SS Titanic on her sea trials
April 2nd, 1912. Shortly before 6 am, tugboats which will lead the Titanic from her birth place to the open waters of the Irish Sea arrived. It took five tugboats to bring the leviathan into the sea: the two took positions behind the stern, and three ahead. The moorings were given and soon after the whistle of the main tug, they all began to sag in the ropes. The ship began to move away from the pier and soon stopped in the middle of the river in anticipation of further orders. And after a short time, SS Titanic accompanied by tugboats, was already going down the river passing the crowds of people welcoming and waving her from the shore, and happy that they had witnessed how this giant flowed smoothly and majestically down the Lough.
